Tips for move-out cleaning
When moving out, it’s crucial to leave the apartment in a clean state – this is why the move-out cleaning should be done carefully. This article provides detailed cleaning instructions for each part of your home, accompanied by example cleaning photos.
These tips you can use also for maintaining the cleanliness of your home.
Kitchen
1. Kitchen hood filter and glass: Remove the filter and wash it with dish soap or in the dishwasher if it’s dishwasher-safe. Clean the glass surface with glass cleaner and dry with a lint-free cloth.
2. Kitchen sink and tap: Clean with a dish brush and all-purpose cleaner. Don’t forget to clean around the faucet base and drain holes. Clean the tap with dish soap and dry with a microfiber cloth for a shiny finish.
3. Oven and stove: Clean the inside and outside of the oven with an all-purpose cleaner. Use oven cleaner for stubborn stains. Also wash the oven shelves and grates and the oven shelf covers. Wash the ceramic hob with a suitable cleaner after each use. To clean a cast-iron hob, you will need a spindle brush or a steel wool brush. Remember to check later that there are no residues of the cleaner on the surface of the oven after it has dried.
4. Fridge: Empty the fridge and freezer. Clean the interior and exterior surfaces, including shelves and drawers, with an all-purpose cleaner. Remember to defrost the freezer before cleaning.
WC and bathroom
1. Mirror cabinet: Wipe mirror surfaces with a lint-free cloth. Clean shelves and doors.
2. Shower wall: Clean glass surfaces with glass cleaner and dry with a squeegee. Scrub stubborn stains with a paste of baking soda and water.
3. Floor drain: Open and clean the floor drain. Remove hair and dirt with a brush and rinse with water.
4. WC Toilet: Use a toilet cleaner. Scrub the bowl and rim with a toilet brush and flush to rinse.
General areas
1. Light switches, , socket covers, moldings and doors: Wipe all light switches, socket covers, moldings and door handles with an all-purpose cleaner. Also, wipe the door surfaces.
2. Inside cabinets: Empty and wipe down the inside of cabinets and shelves with a damp cloth and all-purpose cleaner.
