Below you will find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions that might help you before reaching out to us:
1. How and when do I apply for an apartment?
- You can apply for an apartment once you have accepted a study place in Kuopio.
- You can browse apartments in our Apartment Search and apply by selecting suitable properties. Please read the Applying Quick Guide before filling out the application.
2. I have submitted an application, what happens next?
- If you have already submitted a housing application, you can expect a housing offer. It will be sent to you via email, so please keep an eye on your inbox and spam folder.
- If you have submitted an application but haven’t received a housing offer, consider expanding your search criteria. The chosen properties on your application may not be available, so we might not be able to offer you an apartment. The more areas and different types of housing you choose on your application, the better your chances of receiving a housing offer.
3. When will I receive a housing offer?
- We will send you a housing offer as soon as possible. Apartments are offered daily. If the type of apartment you are applying for is not available, we may not be able to send an offer immediately. Due to the notice period, we can offer some apartments for autumn only in June-July.
4. I want to change my application or get an offer for a different apartment, how can I do this?
- You can submit a new application if you want to change the information on your application.
- If you do not want to accept the offered apartment, please let us know as soon as possible at customerservice@kuopas.fi. Please also include in the email that you would like a new offer.
5. Can I move into the same shared apartment with a friend?
- Yes, if both are students and we have a shared apartment with enough available rooms.
6. Where can I see pictures of the apartment?
- You can find pictures of the apartments in our Apartment Search. First, select the address, and then you will see different apartment types and their details. On the same line, you will see a picture icon, clicking on which will show you pictures of that apartment type.
- Unfortunately, not all apartments have pictures, but we are constantly working to update our image bank.
- Additionally, you can find pictures of furnished apartments sent by our tenants in our Apartment Gallery.
7. I want an apartment at a different time, what should I do?
- We strive to offer apartments to applicants according to their desired move-in date. However, this is not always possible. We may offer you a slightly different apartment or at a different time than you requested in your application, as we cannot guarantee specific types of apartments to all applicants due to the high demand in autumn. If you do not want to accept the apartment at the offered time, please let us know via email. We will try to offer you a new apartment later, but unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a new offer.
